Brachioplasty (Arm Lift Surgery)

Brachioplasty, or arm lift surgery, is ideal for both men and women with loose, excess hanging skin on their upper arms. This can be a result of rapid weight loss due to bariatric surgery, through diet and exercise, or as a result of loss of skin elasticity due to the normal aging process.

An incision is made along the length of the inner side of the upper arm, running from the elbow to the arm pit. If there is excess fat present , the procedure will be combined with liposuction. After the excess fat is suctioned, the loose sagging skin is removed, and the remaining arm skin tightened. The incision is then sutured closed.

After the procedure, the arms are bandaged for approximately one week, with patients returning to normal activities shortly thereafter.
