Thigh Lift

Thigh lift surgery involves the lifting, tightening and removal of loose, sagging skin from the inner, anterior and posterior thigh.

It is a common procedure amongst patients who have lost weight as a result of bariatric surgery, through diet and exercise, or as a result of loss of skin elasticity due to the normal aging process.

The incision is placed in the folds beneath the buttocks, and extends along the inner thigh / groin region where it is hidden in the body's natural creases and folds. Depending on the amount of skin that needs to be removed, an additional vertical incision extending along the length of the inner thigh to the knee may be required. The scar from this incision will fade with time. The excess skin and fat is then removed, the remaining tissue is tightened and lifted, and the incision stitched closed.

Patients are advised to take one to two weeks off of work and to rest for optimal healing.
