Wrinkled, sagging skin and sun spots are just a few of the early signs of aging that our patients want to correct. However, busy work and social schedules do not provide them with the time needed for a lengthy recovery that is required by some more traditional procedures.
Now, we can combine some of the most recent technological advances to provide our patients with a safe, non-surgical, long-lasting alternative. The results offer some of the same benefits as facelifts and chemical peels with minimal, if any, downtime.
ThermaFractional Skin Rejuvenation
Our ThermaFractional Skin Rejuvenation combines tissue tightening with fractional skin resurfacing to provide immediate results that continue to improve over time. Tissue tightening is achieved through the application of either infrared light or radio frequency to the collagen in the skin's dermis, causing it to tighten and contract while stimulating the production of new collagen. Thus wrinkles are smoothed while providing a lifting effect without surgery. Fractional skin treatments deliver narrow, focused "micro beams" to create fine columns of heat within the dermis. This starts the natural healing process which promotes new, healthy tissue. Sun spots, fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars are decreased to provide a fresher, more youthful skin tone and texture.
ThermaFractional Rejuvenation removes years, by lifting the skin, erasing age spots, shrinking pores, erasing wrinkles and improving the appearance of acne scarring.
Who are the best candidates for this procedure?
Patients who would like to look younger and are concerned with loose or sagging skin, regardless of skin type or color, may benefit from ThermaFractional Rejuvenation.
What areas of the body can I have treated?
ThermaFractional Rejuvenation can be applied to any area of the body including the face, chest, arms, legs and hands.
What are the treatments like?
ThermaFractional Rejuvenation is performed in our office. Tissue tightening is performed first. The procedure takes from 1 - 2 hours depending upon the size of the area. Most patients do not require any anesthetic. However, some patients prefer to take a mild oral or topical pain reliever beforehand. During your procedure the computer-controlled delivery device is guided over your treatment area. You may feel a warming sensation as the energy is delivered to the deeper layers of the skin.
Fractional skin rejuvenation is performed after an anesthetic cream has been applied to your skin for about one hour. Then the computer-controlled hand piece is guided across the skin like an airbrush painting your skin with micro-treatments beneath the surface of your skin. Treatments normally take about 30 to 60 minutes.
What is recovery like?
What our patients like the most is that basically, there is little recovery because both tissue tightening and fractional skin resurfacing are non-surgical procedures. They provide our patients with results similar to having had a skin peel and a mini-facelift; but without any of the drawbacks. With ThermaFractional Rejuvenation there are no incisions, no stitches, no scabbing and minimal, if any, downtime. Patients see almost immediate results and can resume most normal activities immediately. They love the fact that their results continue to improve over time and they just look better and better.

What are the benefits of ThermaFractional Skin Rejuvenation?
How many treatments will I need?
ThermaFractional Rejuvenation is a combination of two procedures requiring several treatment sessions.
Depending on your skin's laxity, the area to be treated and the results you desire, multiple tissue tightening treatments may be required. During your consultation, Dr. Middleton will advise you as the number and the frequency of tightening treatments that your skin may require. Fractional skin rejuvenation varies from patient to patient as well. Each treatment produces a gradual remodeling of the collagen within the skin. Most conditions respond after only 4 to 6 treatments spaced about 14 to 28 days apart.
Can I have other procedures with these treatments?
Yes, in fact most patients who have had ThermaFractional Rejuvenation are very interested in preventing the formation of new wrinkles and enhancing their results. For this, we recommend regular injections of a muscle relaxer such as Botox® or Reloxin® along with soft tissue fillers as needed. Botox and Reloxin can prevent the appearance of new wrinkles and soft tissue fillers like Juvederm®, Restylane®, Collagen, Sculptra™, Radiesse™ and others can fill in the deeper depressions that may remain after tissue tightening. Dr. Middleton will recommend the treatments that are right for you. Your on-going maintenance can be enhanced at home by simply using our skin care products as directed.
