Breast Contracture Treatment
Women who undergo breast augmentation are typically made aware of all aspects of their surgery, including the potential risks and complications. However, due to various factors, there are times when patients experience unpleasant side effects. The most common of these is capsular contracture - tissue hardening around the breast implant(s). This often causes the breasts to appear asymmetrical, in which Toronto breast contracture patients may experience a great amount of pain. In order to prevent this from occurring, patients are advised to follow all post-surgery instructions, which oftentimes include gentle massage.
Capsular Contracture Treatment
Should a patient begin to show signs of contracture, such as pain, deformity, and/or firmness, Dr. Middleton now offers the Aspen Rehabilitation Treatment. Using an external ultrasound, this device it is an external modality that is applied to the outside of the breast. It is important to note that the treatment must be started immediately after contracture is detected, otherwise the results may not be as effective.
Other methods to correct capsular contracture include surgical removal of the scar tissue and possible replacement of the breast implants. In order to determine the most appropriate treatment, patients should schedule an appointment with Dr. Middleton, Toronto Cosmetic Surgeon, as soon as possible in order to prevent further complications.
