Breast Augmentation Surgery
Breast implants can be filled with either a saline solution or silicone gel, which will be placed below the chest muscle or between the chest muscle and breast tissue. Incisions can be made in a variety of locations, including in the skin fold under the breasts, along the edge of the colored area around the nipple (aerola), or in the armpit.
During a visit with Dr. Middleton, Hamilton, Toronto, and Oshawa breast augmentation patients will be informed of how to prepare for the procedure, post surgical care, and potential risks and complications. You will also discuss the aforementioned factors to take into consideration when undergoing a breast augmentation procedure ("augmentation mammaplasty"), including breast implant type, placement, and incision location.
Dr. Middleton understands that each woman's anatomy is different; and it is important to disclose any previous medical conditions and/or breast surgeries during your visit so that he can create a personalized treatment plan. In some instances, Dr. Middleton may recommend combining breast enlargement with breast lift surgery ("mastopexy"). This procedure can elevate sagging breasts to a more youthful position on the chest.
In addition, if you would like to undergo a total body enhancement, Dr. Middleton can also perform tummy tuck surgery ("abdominoplasty") and liposuction ("lipoplasty"). When these body contouring procedures are performed together, often called a "Mommy Makeover," woman can regain the slender figure they had before pregnancy.
