Chin Enhancement
A chin augmentation ("mentoplasty") can provide you with a more vibrant and attractive distinction. In addition, if your facial structure is asymmetrical or you suffer from congenital defects, chin implant surgery can be of great benefit.
During a visit with our chin implant surgeon, Dr. Middleton, your facial structure will be examined in order to determine the best shape and size. Depending on your particular needs and expectations, complementary surgical procedures may be recommended, such as nose surgery ("rhinoplasty"). A personalized treatment plan is created for each individual patient. Improved symmetry, or facial balance, can be achieved when combining these procedures.
Chin augmentation surgery can be performed as an outpatient procedure under general or local anesthesia. Silicone or expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) implants, which can be custom trimmed by Dr. Middleton, are inserted through incisions that are made in the natural creases or inside the mouth to eliminate visible scarring. Post-surgery discomfort can be reduced with medication prescribed by our plastic surgeon, Dr. Middleton.
