Performed by Dr. Middleton, a tummy tuck procedure ("abdominoplasty") will be personalized to your individual needs; he can perform a full tummy tuck, mini tummy tuck, or combine liposuction and tummy tuck surgery. A full tummy tuck is performed by making a long incision in the lower abdomen from hipbone to hipbone. The skin is separated from the underlying muscles up to the rib cage; Dr. Middleton then tightens the weakened muscles and removes excess skin and fat. Should it be necessary, a new opening for the belly button is made in order to produce a more aesthetically attractive midsection.
Dr. Middleton can perform mini tummy tuck surgery without the need to make a new opening for the naval. This method only requires tightening of the lower section of the abdomen and is commonly paired with liposuction ("lipoplasty") of the flanks and upper abdomen. A more defined contour can be achieved when performing these surgeries together.
